In 1999, after a night at Glasgow’s infamous Club 69 with the guys who would go on to create Fundamentally House and Fizzy Duck Records, Keith Murphy made the leap from rock guitarist to electronic producer and house/techno DJ. A year later he was playing his first gig alongside Ross MacMillan (now known worldwide as Carlos Nilmmns). The next 15 years saw various appearances at club nights in and around Glasgow including DEFF and The Unit, a residency at monthly night Motion and releases on Deku Records and Fizzy Duck.
Keith’s eclectic but distinctive style is based around house and techno but draws on other influences from hip-hop to funk to jazz and always with a psychedelic edge.
Now based in Yorkshire, Keith is regularly putting out new material via Fundamentally House Radio and Mixcloud and making occasional live appearances North and South of the border.
Listen out for his new show Weird Science on Fundamentally House Radio.
