My name is Felipe Garcia. I live in Modesto, CA. I’ve been Djing for about 14 years on and off. I say that because I took a break for a few years due to the price of vinyl. House music became a passion of mine in the summer of 95. I remember it clear as day. My friend gave me a copy of a San Francisco DJ by the name of Simon. It was from a monthly called Come-Unity. That mixtape remains a staple in my rotation. It will never stop inspiring me. For the next few years, I traveled to SF almost every weekend to attend raves. I love to watch the DJ work their magic. I would watch for hours while dancing. When I got home, I would practice what I saw the night before. That is how I learned to mix. I would watch my local hero’s such as Mark Farina, DJ Dan, Tony Hewitt, Garth, Jeno, Carlos, Simon and countless others. I made sure to go hear guest DJ’s such as DJ Sneak, Gene Farris, Doc Martin, Andrew Weatherall, Funk D Void, Josh Wink, Barry Weaver, Terry Mullan, Johnny Fiasco just to name a few. I’ve been fortunate enough to play at random clubs and house parties in my town. But mostly I play for myself because I love House Music. The love I have for House Music trumps any attempt for me to make money off it. I am very lucky to have found the Fundamentally House Crew. They have giving me an audience who shares the love of House.
