Charlie has been a Fundamentally House contributor since the turn of the year and now co-presents The Weekly Groove show every Wednesday on Glasgow’s Groove City Radio.
Charlie also contributes to Fundamentally House’s social media output and as well as sharing music and encouraging debate across Facebook and Twitter, he writes blogs on various events in Scotland and beyond including festivals such as T in the Park and The Electric Frog and club events such as Pressure and Colours. Ibiza is never too far away from his thoughts.
His long-term labour of love started out as many do by collecting the various shiny 12″ black discs that took his fancy. A burning desire to track down and own the elusive tracks he loved predictably lead him to that cherished purchase of 2 coveted turntables and a mixer and so it began in earnest. As a working DJ, the majority of his work has been in commercial venues playing private parties and public bars when he ran his own DJ company. He has played at various bars across the West of Scotland and most recently held a lighthearted residency at the weekly Sunday Sessions party at Cafe Borgia in Paisley.
When playing out his sound often sits on the border of house and techno but he believes that good music is good music and that there are no solid boundaries. A lover of both the analogue and digital worlds he likes to use technology to add something different to the conventional DJ style he prefers. He is currently turning his hand to production and hopes to release some material later in the year under his Subaqueous guise.
